GRAB ‘EM BY THE BALLS
Bleed Exhibit 01
VENTING FRUSTRATION
through red paint
Warhol’s famous portraits of Mao, Marilyn Monroe, Debbie Harry, etc. highlighted the most influential people of the time. Today’s influentials are all misogynistic amoral men whose actions and positions of power became the tipping point for women across America resulting in the #MeToo movement. To help vent some of those frustrations, I created three portraits in the style of Warhol; Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump, and Brett Kavanaugh. These were hung individually in the studio during the exhibition. Patrons were allowed (one at a time) to dip a tennis ball in red paint and throw it at the portraits. Definitely one of the favorite moments that people were elated to participate in. Due to demand, we printed 12 portraits total for the two night event.
