Donald Trump has a history of objectifying and demeaning women. Barbara Kruger’s brutalist tabloid style of art was inspiring to me. Exploring some of her work, I wanted to make this a bit more authentic to my own creative process. I invited a group of friends to the studio and shot them in the style of Herb Ritts. These beautiful people juxtaposed to Trump’s vile rhetoric towards women becomes poignant to the viewer. My hope is to remind people that his words are not just words, but weapons that attacks the people his position is meant to serve.
